Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanasamy today took up with Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathy the proposed expansion of the airport here and sought the centre's assistance for the project.
Narayanasamy submitted a detailed letter to Raju, who was here to launch the MUDRA campaign organised by the State Level Bankers Committee, an official release said.
Earlier at the MUDRA campaign launch, he said the runway needed to be expanded and for this 100 acres of land would be acquired.
The airport here, which was lying unused for some years, had become operational last month with the introduction of direct flights to Hyderabad and Vijayawada.
