Farmers from Tamil Nadu, who are protesting at Jantar Mantar here, today alleged that Puducherry Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi is sitting on files related to Rs 20-crore farm loan waiver and disregarding their demands.
The farmers tied their limbs with ropes to symbolise the alleged oppressive attitude of the administration towards the farmer community.
"The LG of Puducherry is not signing the papers of loan waiver even after the UT's cabinet had given nod. And for the seventeenth day we are protesting but no one is paying heed to our issues," farmers leader P Ayyakkannu claimed.

Since the beginning of their sit-in on July 16, the farmers are staying in the open and have been struggling with health issues including dengue.
"There are a lot of mosquitoes as it has been raining lately," he said.
An elderly protester was taken in an ambulance to a nearby hospital today as he was feeling very weak.
On 25th last month, Subramaniam, a resident of Tamil Nadu's Namakkal district allegedly tried to commit suicide by consuming sleeping pills, but the police claimed the incident was a case of drug overdose.
