The Union Territory of Puducherry was lashed by heavy rains today, inundating main thoroughfares and low lying areas and affecting vehicular movement, official sources said.
They said Puducherry town and its suburbs recorded around 5 cm rainfall in the last 24 hours ending 8.30 AM today.
Educational institutions however functioned as usual.
