Puducherry road show promotes local culture, heritage

: Over 250 artists from various parts of the country participated in the fourth annual road show here, got up to promote the local culture and heritage of the union territory.

Live demonstrations by terracotta artists and other artisans, including experts in sand sculptures were also held as part of the road show.

Chief Minister N Rangasamy, who inaugurated the road show, said the purpose of holding it was not just to enable artists display their skills and creative capabilities, but also to promote Puducherry as a tourism destination.

Chairperson of the Fine Arts Association Malathy Rajavelu said the road show has helped artists every year.
 

Welfare and Tourism Minister P Rajavelu, officials of Tourism Department and Lalit Kala Akademi Chennai were also present.

The event was organised by Puducherry Fine Arts Association.
