An inter-state police meeting will be held here tomorrow with a view to boost coordination among cops to effectively clamp down on criminals besides sharing information on their modus operandi and other aspects pertaining to the crime.

Apart from senior police officials from Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh, various commissionerates from Maharashtra will also exchange their information on criminals involved in chain snatching.

"The first meeting was held in February in which police officials from Bengaluru, Bhopal and various other police commissionerates from the state took part and the co-ordination has helped to detect cases.

"Now this is the second time that we are hosting a similar meeting here on Tuesday to augment the inter-state coordination between police machineries," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) P R Patil.

He said that participating commissionerates are worst affected by the chain snatching menace and the intention behind the meeting is to share information about criminals with each other.

"During the meeting, besides sharing information about criminals, the representatives from different commissionerates will explain various methods used by criminals while executing the crime and photographs of criminals on record too will be shared," said Patil.

He added that apart from Bengaluru and Bhopal, senior police officials from Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane, Nagpur, Aurangabad and other cities will attend the meeting.
