Pune serial blasts: Maha ATS invokes MCOCA against 7 accused

"We have invoked MCOCA (Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act) in the case," Maharashtra ATS chief Rakesh Maria said.

Police have till now arrested seven suspected Indian Mujahideen (IM) members - Firoze Sayyed, Irfan Landge, Imran Khan, Asad Khan, Sayyed Arif alias Kashif Biyabani, Munib Iqbal Memon and Farooq Bagwan.

One person was injured in the four coordinated low- intensity blasts on August 1 last year at the busy arterial Junglee Maharaj (JM) Road near Bal Gandharv theatre, Dena bank branch, McDonald outlet and Garware bridge in Pune.

The first explosion went off at Bal Gandharv theatre in which one person was seriously injured. The explosion outside McDonald went off in a dustbin while blast near Garware bridge and Dena Bank were caused by explosives strapped on bicycles.
