Punjab BJP announces in-charges for civic polls

The Punjab unit of the BJP today announced the names of party in-charges for the upcoming municipal corporation elections in the state.

State BJP chief Vijay Sampla, in a release, said former state unit chief of the party Kamal Sharma and state general secretary Manjit Singh Rai have been given the responsibility of Amritsar municipal corporation.

At Jalandhar, the responsibility has been entrusted with former state BJP chief Ashwani Sharma and state vice-president Iqbal Singh Lalpura, while another former state BJP chief, Brij Lal Rinwa, and state secretary Vineet Joshi will be the poll in-charges at Ludhiana.

Another former Punjab BJP chief, Madan Mohan Mittal, and state vice-president Harjit Singh Grewal have been given the charge of Patiala municipal corporation.
 

The current terms of Jalandhar, Amritsar, Ludhiana and Patiala municipal corporations come to an end in September.
