Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh today announced Rs 42 crore as a dedicated fund for preservation of the state's cultural heritage.
The fund would be used for the upkeep and maintenance of various cultural projects across the state, an official spokesman said here today.
The government was fully committed to conserve the legacy of the state through various cultural heritage projects and memorials, which would go a long way in sensitizing the younger generations about the state's rich heritage, he said.
The chief minister has already instructed Director, Tourism and Cultural Affairs Shivdular Singh Dhillon to ensure proper upkeep and maintenance of all the cultural heritage projects in the state especially the Maharaja Dalip Singh Memorial in Ludhiana district.
