Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh today hailed the budget presented today in the assembly, saying it focussed on multi-sectoral growth and would put the state on the path of high growth.
Singh said the budget provided a roadmap to put the economy back on track by ensuring all-round development.
He asserted that this budget would bring Punjab out of the "fiscal mess" the previous SAD-BJP government had plunged it into.
The budget has taken due care of all sectors - agriculture, industry, health, education, employment generation, he said.
Singh recalled that his government's maiden budget last year had been an endeavour to improve the state's fiscal health through long-term planning.
He said this budget would be a "milestone" to achieve the target of fiscal consolidation as mandated by the 14th Finance Commission for all the states, besides putting Punjab in the orbit of high-growth trajectory.
