The rebels were contesting against the official party candidates.
Those expelled were fighting elections in four towns of Amritsar, Patiala, Jalandhar and Ludhiana, where elections are to be held later this week.
They have been expelled following recommendations from the district Congress committee presidents, sources said.
Those expelled include Dinesh Kumar (president youth Congress Amritsar west) and various former councillors.
