Punjab Congress leaders today termed the allegations of Raja Sansi MLA Sukhbinder Singh Sartkaria against state party president Partap Singh Bajwa as "rubbish and mischievous" and demanded his expulsion.

Sarkaria's business interests with Revenue Minister Bikram Singh Majitha are no more a secret and about the fact that he was keen to join Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), but his mentors found it suitable to damage the Congress from within, several state Congress leaders alleged in a joint statement.

Accusing the legislator of hobnobbing with SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal, PPCC vice-president Om Parkash Soni, four MLAs including Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and several others said, Sakaria's version of Bajwa failing to take along party workers and leaders was highly condemnable and an attempt to jeopardise the party's prospects in the coming Lok Sabha elections.
