Punjab education dept conducts surprise raids in 667 schools

Special teams of Punjab Education Department today conducted surprise checks in 667 schools of the state with the aim of ensuring punctuality and discipline in the institutions.

Three Circles -- Jalandhar, Faridkot, and Nabha (Patiala) -- were visited by the special teams.

Stating this here, a spokesperson of the department said that during checking, 30 teachers were found absent while 43 teachers were late whereas 24 teachers were found absent for long periods of time.

The spokesperson said that to maintain discipline and punctuality in the government schools, special and surprise checking would continue in future also.
