Punjab faces problem of cross-border narco-terrorism: BJP

Punjab BJP, the alliance partner of ruling Shiromani Akali Dal in the state, today stressed on the need to curb durgs menace in stronger way as the state was facing problem of "narco-terrorism" from Pakistan.

"There is a problem of narco-terrorism from across the border and this needs to be tackled in a stronger way," Punjab BJP chief Kamal Sharma said at a Martyrdom Day function here on the Indo-Pak border.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was also present at the function.

Sharma said industry and trade in the state had been finished as Punjab had to face the "trade of terror" from Pakistan.
 

Drawing PM's attention towards the problem of drugs in the state, Sharma said the Centre and state government should work "in tandem" to resolve this issue.

He also said there was a strong need to rehabilitate the drug addicts.

The BJP leader asked Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal to build a concrete road here which would connect 11 villages and also an auditorium with light and sound facility in the memory of Bhagat Singh.
