Punjab government sets up social audit cell

A special department was set up today Punjab government at the Joint Development Commissioner's office to conduct the social audit of works being allocated under MGNREGA.

The department called 'Social Audit Cell' would be headed by a professionally qualified Director with minimum 10 years of experience in social audit, an official spokesperson of Punjab rural development and panchayat department said that.

The Director would be assisted by 4 social audit experts to conduct the social audit of works being allocated under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Gurantee Act, he said.

The person applying for the post of Director, should be a post graduate in any field and is to have experience in social audit and has been right based activist for not less than 10 years, he said.
