Punjab govt develops Shahbaz Sharif's ancestral village

The Punjab government has initiated a series of developmental work in Jaati Umra, the ancestral village of Pakistan's Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif, in this border district, an official spokesperson said here today.

The development work, costing around Rs 346 lakh, includes fixing tiles in the village lanes, construction of a stadium, boundary wall of a play ground, water-supply tank, and retaining of pond.

It also includes drainage/clearance of dirty water, cremation ground, community centre, strengthening of roads and construction of Dharamshala and Aanganwari Centre, he said.

On December 15, 2013, Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal had announced certain developmental projects for the village in the presence of Shahbaz Sharif.
