A government doctor, posted at a civil hospital in Kapurthala, has been dismissed from service by the Punjab government for allegedly committing financial frauds and insubordination.
Naresh Kumar, Medical Officer (Dental) posted at Civil Hospital in Kapurthala, was dismissed from service after he was chargesheeted for insubordination, committing financial frauds and availing out-of-turn promotion benefits, an official spokesman said here today.
He was given time to explain his position before the Inquiry Officer but he did not respond to the repeated departmental messages, he said.

After thoroughly examining the charges leveled against Kumar, Inquiry Officer K C Saini, in his report, said that all charges had been proved to be correct.
"Kumar was asked to join the investigations and was given time to submit his reply but he did not appear before the Inquiry Officer," the spokesperson said.
On the recommendation of the Inquiry Officer for the dismissal of the "erring" medical officer, the health department dismissed the doctor with immediate effect under Section 6 of the Punjab Civil Services Rules, 1970.
