The state government has taken this decision to facilitate thousands of students from the rural belts of Punjab to ensure their admission in Polytechnic Colleges under Fee Waiver Scheme, Technical Education Minister Anil Joshi said.
He said that keeping this in view, the Punjab Government has also extended the date of submission of applications in Polytechnic Colleges from June 15 to June 25, so that rural students can drive the utmost benefit from this scheme.
The Minister said that the students, who have cleared their Joint Entrance Test can get direct admissions in the polytechnic colleges availing this facility of fee waiving as 2500 seats in the polytechnic colleges have been reserved across the state.
He said these seats would be filled under the fee waiving scheme of All India Council for Technical Education.
