'Punjab govt officials pulled up for failing to submit report'

Punjab government officials, summoned by the National Commission for Scheduled Castes to submit a report on non-implementation of the SC Sub-Plan, today failed to furnish relevant documents, drawing ire of the NCSC Chairman, a petitioner in the case has claimed.

Paramjit Singh Kainth, President of 'Chamar Mahan Sabha', the main petitioner in the case said an action taken report was to be presented before the NCSC today. However, Punjab officials failed to give the report.

"They were pulled up by NCSC Chairman P L Punia and told to appear again on July 18 along with the state Chief Secretary and the Finance Secretary," Kainth said in a statement.
 

The Commission also pointed out that Punjab government had failed to implement the Babu Jagjiwan Ram Chaatrawas Yojna.
