Punjab government today asked all departments to submit consolidated quarterly reports regarding absentee officials and employees within a week to expedite the removal and dismissal process against them.
The government has taken a very serious note of unnecessary delay in disciplinary action against absentee officials and employees, a government spokesman said.
It is imperative for departments to take speedy decisions regarding their dismissal, removal or demotion and departments concerned should submit consolidated quarterly action taken reports by the 30th of every month to the Chief Secretary, he said.
It has been found that reports received by personal department directly from various offices were sketchy and also not according to the prescribed proforma, he added.
