Punjab Govt sets up cultural coordination board

In a bid to strengthen cultural ties with the people from Punjab living outside, the state government has constituted the Punjabi Cultural Coordination Board consisting of 10 members besides a chairman.

Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal has appointed Avtar Singh Hit as the Chairman of Punjabi Cultural Coordination Board which aims at bringing the Punjabi diaspora within the fold of local culture, a spokesperson of the CM's Office said today.

Badal also gave nod to the appointment of Major Singh Kaler and Manjit Singh as the Chairman and Senior Vice Chairman of Punjab Vimukat Jatiyan Welfare Board respectively.

Besides, approval was given to constitute Prajapat Welfare Board comprising 10 members besides Bawa Singh Ghumanpur as the Chairman to ensure the well being of the Prajapati community.
 

Appointments of Gian Chand, Prabh Dayal, Raj Kumar Hans, Tarsem Singh Sialka, Raj Singh and Rajinder Guddu as members of the Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission was cleared by the Chief Minister, the spokesperson added.
