The Punjab government should extend "all help" to those displaced from the border areas of the state in the wake of the Army's surgical strikes in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), Congress leader Charanjit Singh Channi said here today.

The Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader requested Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal to "personally" visit the families and assure them of "all possible support".

He said the state government should extend all help to those displaced, especially the children and womenfolk, and give assistance to them at this hour.

Channi also talked to the Congress MLAs and party leaders in the border areas of the state and inquired about the current situation being faced by the people there.

Today was the fourth day of the Congress leader's 'Jawani Sambhal Yatra' which started from Jagraon and reached Moga.
