The state government will also bear the expenses of business class air fare for both Yannick and his father from Delhi to a hospital in Rwanda, a spokesman said quoting Badal.

On the request of Nestor Ntibateganya, father of Burundi student Yannick Nihangaza who was attacked by some persons when he was going to a party in Jalandhar on April 22 last, the state government would soon arrange for an air ambulance to lift him to Delhi, the spokesman said.

Badal gave his nod to bear the expenditure for Yannick's medicines given by Columbia Asia Hospital at Patiala, where he is currently admitted for treatment.

The chief minister has assured Yannick's father that all the culprits involved in the crime would be soon punished as per the law of the land.

He said a case has already been registered and the public prosecutor has been asked to pursue the case vigorously for ensuring exemplary punishment to the culprits by the courts so that foreign students coming to state for pursuing higher studies feel safe and secure.

Earlier, the Punjab Government had paid Rs 5 lakh as financial assistance for Yannick's treatment.

Most of the suspects allegedly involved in the attack, including son of a SP rank officer, have been arrested.
