Interacting with farmers here, he said Kandi area had a rich bounty of natural resources which needed to be tapped for economic progress of the state.
"If farmers make optimum utilisation of products like mango, amla and other herbs produced in the area, then Kandi can be developed as a herbal hub," Badal said.
To develop modern techniques of agriculture in Kandi region, the state government was focusing on promoting drip irrigation system in the area.
In this connection, a pilot project had been conceived by his government under which check dams would be constructed in 28 villages in Mukerian sub-division, he said.
The Chief Minister also visited the Sada Shiv Model, a women self-help group engaged in agro food processing here.
