Punjab Government will distribute Tablets to 1.5 lakh students in rural areas at a cost of Rs 110 crore.
The Tablets will be given to students from this session with an aim to aware the rural students about the use of technology in education, Chief Parliamentary Secretary (Education) Inderbir Singh Bolaria said.
"The government is fully committed to strengthen the higher education in the rural sector across the state as the education sector is the main focus area of SAD-BJP Government," he said.

He further said that the border belt districts mainly Amritsar, Taran Taran, Gurdaspur had suffered a lot on the education front due to the international border.
He said that besides the expansion of GNDU campuses, the process has already been started to set up a world class university at Amritsar.
He said that Guru Nanak Dev University has established a Regional Campus at Sathiala, where computer science, electronics, management, social sciences and sciences departments have already been started.
