Punjab government today said it will give another chance to unauthorised colonies and plot holders to get them regularised by issuing notification later this month.

Acceding to the plea of colonisers, Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal today asked the Housing and Urban Development department to issue a fresh notification on October 27 for plot holders and colonisers who could not get opportunity to get their plots and colonies regularised in given time-frame already elapsed.

He also directed all deputy commissioners and development authorities to launch a sustained campaign to get all illegal colonies and plots regularised and complete this work as a mission.

The time-frame for applying for regularisation of unauthorised colonies, plots, buildings lapsed in April this year, said a senior official of Punjab Housing and Urban Development department.

Badal also directed the housing development and all development authorities to initiate the process of accepting applications from the next week and decide the same within one month after their submission to issue NOCs to the owners.

Deputy Chief Minister asked the Secretary, Housing, to draft an ordinance to amend the PAPR act to give relief to unauthorised plot holders and colonies in the state.
