The state government was well aware of the difficulties faced by the people of the area and no stone would be left unturned for finding some viable solution for them, Badal said while addressing a gathering after laying the foundation stone of developmental works worth Rs 26 crore at Talwara near here.
Badal said he had already asked the officers of the state government to chalk out the blueprint of the comprehensive 'Kandi Area Development plan', which would be instrumental in giving facelift to the entire area.
The Chief Minister reiterated that there was vast scope for the development of Food Processing Industry in the region for which untapped potential of cultivation of Mango, Amla, Lemon and other medicinal plants needed to be explored.
In order to encourage the farmers of the region for the cultivation of commercial crops the state government was contemplating to set up a Research and Training Institute for Natural Bio-sources Food Processing at Talwara for which a plan of nearly Rs 6 crore has been formulated by the Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, he said.
