Punjab, Haryana receive scattered rains

Light to moderate rains lashed a number of areas in Punjab and Haryana today, with the maximum temperature at most places in the region continuing to hover around the normal level.

Chandigarh received light showers and the maximum temperature in the city stood at 31.5 degrees Celsius, the Met office here said.

Among other places in Punjab, Amritsar and Ludhiana recorded maximum temperatures of 31.6 and 31.4 degrees, whereas Patiala's maximum settled at 29.2 degrees Celsius.

Rainfall was reported from a few places in the state, including Patiala, Amritsar and Mohali.

In Haryana, Ambala and Hisar recorded maximum temperatures of 29.3 and 32.8 degrees Celsius, with both towns receiving light showers.
 

Maximum temperature in Bhiwani and Karnal was recorded at 32.8 and 31.4 degrees Celsius.

According to a MeT forecast, light to moderate rainfall may occur at a few places in the region tomorrow.
