The lawyers from across the state in their meeting here decided to stage black flag protest on the premises of Punjab and Haryana high court on August 31, Sunit Garg, President of Moga district bar association, who presided over the meeting, told reporters here.

Garg said it was also unanimously resolved that lawyers would not work on Saturday.

"If the high court did not withdraw its decision to set up evening courts, then the protest will be intensified by lawyers," he said.

The lawyers opined that it was practically not feasible to ehance the timings of evening courts from 4 pm to 7 pm as the advocates have to prepare by the night for arguments of the cases and other documents for the next day.

Besides, the litigants coming from far off places to attend the evening courts would not be able to go back, he said.
