Press Trust of India Chandigarh
Punjab Medical Education and Research Minister Anil Joshi today took a strong note of the nursing and dental colleges 'indulging in irregularities' and deficiencies in infrastructure.

He directed the officers of the department to form teams and conduct checks on all the colleges and supervise all the aspects.

The Minister also issued instructions to the teams to prepare a list of the colleges indulging in irregularities and falling deficient on the prescribed standards.

"This would ensure strict action against erring colleges," he said.

Joshi said that the departmental teams during the inspection of a few colleges, parents of some students brought to his notice that many dental and nursing colleges of the state are lacking in infrastructural facilities such as laboratories, practical training and required teaching staff.

Besides, the requisite fees for affiliation of colleges has also not been deposited with the university, he said.

Taking strong notice, the Minister said that the colleges with such deficiencies would be strictly proceeded against.
