Punjab minister suspends exam superintendent for being absent

Punjab Education Minister Sikander Singh Maluka on a surprise visit to an examination centre at a senior secondary school here found the superintendent absent from duty without intimation, following he was suspended.

The minister visited the examination centre in Sawan Mal Aggarwal Senior Secondary School at Zira area of the district and found that Superintendent Yadvinder Singh, Physics lecturer in Government Girls Senior Secondary School in Ferozpur district was absent.

Maluka ordered Singh's suspension with immediate effect, an official spokesman said, adding, that during suspension Singh's headquarters would be District Education Office at Ferozepur.
