Issuing strict instructions to all officials of Civic Bodies to take remedial steps, he said there was an urgent need to find out reasons for the spread of these diseases.
He said all municipal bodies have been asked to carry out surveys of all important supply points.
Besides, health officials have been directed by the health minister to visit affected areas and ensure there was no leakage in water and sewerage lines leading to contamination of drinking water, he added.
