Punjab government is planning to launch a policy to fix accountability in adulteration of agricultural inputs.

The policy will be on the lines of the recently launched Rahat scheme for traders, Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal said today.

Launching the Rahat scheme here, Sukhbir said the state will soon roll out the policy wherein accountability of manufacturing units will be fixed for any adulteration in agri-inputs like seeds, pesticides, feed, or fertilizers.

"Punjab is contemplating to launch new policy for sale of agricultural inputs in consonance with Rahat Scheme for the welfare of traders and retailers community," he said.

Describing Rahat Scheme unique, Badal said traders and retailers would have to file minimum details including their annual turnover to become a Rahat Certificate holder.

Badal said the state had launched e-district project in three districts and by the end of 2014, 147 citizen-centric services would be provided online.

Responding to reporters on former Congress leader Amarinder Singh's allegations of Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal's involvement in Operation Bluestar, Sukhbir lashed out at the former chief minister, saying he was trying to mislead the people.

"At that time, he (Amarinder) himself advised the then Prime Minister to launch Operation Bluestar," he said, adding that the Congress leader wanted to get political mileage in the ensuing polls and regain the chair of PPCC.

On AAP, Sukhbir said the party has no political future in Punjab and it would meet the same fate as faced by PPP in the previous polls in the state.
