Punjab police dispatches 105 police buses for pilgrims

To supplement Punjab government's efforts for evacuation of pilgrims stranded in Uttarakhand, Punjab Police has dispatched 105 of its buses to Rishikesh for transportation of the yatris.

These include 64 mini-buses which will ferry the stranded persons from the upper reaches to Rishikesh, official sources said, adding that close to a thousand Punjab Police men have been sent to Rishikesh.

A round-the-clock Control Room has been set up under the supervision of Senior SP, Mohali, to assist the evacuated yatris.

As a small token, IPS and PPS officers of Punjab Police have contributed a day's salary for relief operations.
