Punjab RC told to pursue claims with ministries

Accountant General Punjab has brought to the notice of the government that claims of Rs 884.87 lakh were pending in various Ministries till February 2012, an official spokesman said here today.

The Resident Commissioner in New Delhi has been asked to intervene to get these claims cleared at the earliest, the spokesman said.

He also said the state government had issued strict instructions to all the departments to check financial irregularities in the accounts of February and March 2012.

The office of the Accountant General had brought to the government's notice that most of the District Treasury Offices did not furnish the monthly accounts in time and most of the time the accounts submitted by them were incomplete, he said.

 

Added to this, most of the treasury offices did not furnish the details/vouchers of expenditure forcing the AG to book expenditure under Treasury Suspense Account, the spokesman said.
