The Punjab government will soon bring its new industrial policy to boost the industrial growth of state.

The new industrial policy will be industrialist friendly and also generate large employment opportunities for youth, Punjab's Industry and Commerce minister Anil Joshi said on the sidelines of a function at an educational institute here.

Alleging the Union government of meting out "step-motherly" treatment towards Punjab, the minister said the industries in the state suffered as Central package was provided to neighbouring states.

"Now the state government has decided to boost industry with its own resources," he added.

Joshi further said that the state government has called Expression of Interest from international players to set up a multi-skill development centres at four different locations of the state at a cost of Rs 240 crore.

These centres will be established at Bathinda, Ludhiana, Amritsar and Hosiarpur to impart technical training to the youth of state, he said.
