Taking up a case of Jalandhar district based Amarjit Singh who went to Netherland for livelihood but could not return, the State Commission urged the National Commission to intervene and facilitate the easy arrival of all such Punjabis stuck abroad.
Rajesh Bagha, Chairman of Punjab State Commission for Scheduled Castes, said today that a complaint received from Inderdeep Kaur, wife of Amarjit Singh of village Chachowal in Jalandhar district, was forwarded to the National Commission for necessary action and to have a dialogue with the Dutch Government.
He said that according to the complainant, Amarjit Singh has gone to Netherland in search of employment in 2002 but as his passport and other necessary documents got misplaced he was unable to return to India.
Bagha said, "we had written to the National Commission for Scheduled Castes to pressurise the Central Government to start communication with its counterpart Dutch Government for the safe arrival of Amarjit Singh and others like him.
