Punjab Government today constituted a high-level committee for addressing the issues of Elementary Trained Teachers (ETTs) working under Zila Parishads across the state within a month.
A decision to this effect was taken by Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal during a meeting with the representatives of the ETT teachers here, an official spokesman said.
The Chief Minister said that the committee comprising his Principal Secretary S K Sandhu, Financial Commissioner Rural Development Mandeep Singh Sandhu and Principal Secretary Education Anjali Bhanwra would "minutely examine" all the demands of the ETTs and find "some viable solution" for them within a month.

He asked the Committee to look into the matter of shifting these teachers on the vacant posts of Education department in the districts to streamline primary education in the state.
Badal asked the committee to discuss the issues regarding fixing of seniority of these teachers during their merger with teachers of the education department.
