Punjab's Non-Conventional Energy Minister Bikram Singh Majithia today said the state government has installed Solar Thermal System in Kangaroo Industries Limited at village Kanech, near Sahnewal in Ludhiana district having a capacity of one lakh litre per day for evaporation and condensation of waste water.
He said that as per pollution control norms the waste water of chemical process cannot be discharged into ground.
He also said that in the field of solar thermal system, Punjab has taken the lead and during the current year 7 lakh litre capacity solar water heating system was installed in the state by Punjab Energy Development Authority (PEDA).
Besides, 20 lakh litre capacity solar water heating system had already been installed in Punjab.
