"Punjab was all set to attract Rs one lakh crore investment and all organs of Industry Department would have to retune themselves to fulfil the state's agenda of accelerated industrialisation of the state," said Punjab industry and commerce minister Anil Joshi.
The complete computerisation is a must to provide single window system to the entrepreneurs through web portal and enhance transparency, Joshi said.
Besides industries department, Joshi also issued orders for computerisation of seven corporations in the state.
These included Punjab Infotech, Punjab State Industry Development Corporation, Punjab Small Scale Industries and Exports Corporation, Punjab Financial Corporation, Punjab Khadi and Village Industries, Punjab Communications, Punjab Alkalis and Chemicals Ltd.
Web portal will be started at Udyog Sahayak for the facilitation of investment by entrepreneurs.
In a statement here, Joshi said he has issued instruction for completing the computerisation process "within one month" as a major step towards ushering in an era of transparency in the industries department besides providing single window system to the entrepreneurs through the web portal.
