The Punjab government will add 305 general buses to the fleet of state owned 'PUNBUS' during the current financial year.
With this, the fleet of 'PUNBUS' would increase to 1912 from the existing 1607, Transport Minister Ajit Singh Kohar said today.
He, as per an official release, said that for 305 general buses, the process of purchasing chasis has begun.

The Minister said that it has been decided to get bus bodies fitted from Haryana Transport.
The Minister also said that for this purpose a committee of technical experts of the Transport Department has been constituted which has inspected the Gurgaon-based workshop of Haryana Roadways Engineering Corporation.
The Minster also told that according to the decision taken by the Board of Directors of 'PUNBUS', 10 super integral coach AC buses will also be purchased, but action regarding this will be initiated after the start of arrival of 305 general buses.
