Punjab government is preparing a comprehensive plan to permanently eliminate the water-logging problem in Malwa region of the state, Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh said today.
Speaking to reporters after addressing a rally at Dhippan Wali village here, Badal said the state was employing the assistance of technical and irrigation experts to solve the issue which was affecting farmers.
Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal has already submitted a detailed report to the Planning Commission of India seeking a package of Rs 3,327 crore in this regard, he said.
"Badal has also urged the Union Government to sanction the demanded relief package as early as possible," he said.
