Punjab to host 60th national school games: Minister

Punjab Education Minister Dr Daljit Singh Cheema today announced that 60th National School Games in six sporting disciplines will be organised in November this year.

In these games, around 4,000 sportspersons from across the country are likely to participate.

Dr Cheema also said that the games would be organised in two phases - at Sri Anandpur Sahib and Bathinda.

The events include Handball U-19 (boys and girls), Boxing U-14 and U-17 (boys) and National Style Kabaddi U-19 (boys and girls), which will be held at Sri Anandpur Sahib from November 13 to 18.

In the second phase, Dodgeball U-19 (boys and girls) and Circle Style Kabaddi U-17 and U-19 (boys) will take place at Bathinda from November 20 to 25.
 

Dr Cheema informed that a meeting of sports officials from Education Department would be organised this month and the officials would be deputed on different duties so that the games could be held successfully.
