Punjab government will recruit 500 doctors to strengthen the state's health services.
300 new doctors will be posted as Emergency Medical officers and Post Graduate doctors would not be given emergency duty except some exceptional cases, health minister Madan Mohan Mittal said today in a release.
Punjab has been successful in ensuring that a health centre or a hospital is available for patients within a radius of 10-km, aimed at providing hassle-free medical service to people, Mittal claimed in the release.
On the issue of doctors' transfer, he said there was no victimisation in transfer of doctors, but if anybody was not satisfied with transfers, the person can approach senior departmental officials.
