Punjab to set up 1,107 Edusat labs: Maluka

Another 1107 such Edusat Labs would be set up in the remaining schools soon, said Education Minister Sikandar Singh Maluka here today.

Rural students unable to pay hefty fees to the coaching centres would be able to prepare themselves through satellite learning, Maluka said, adding, 1,719 students from the rural areas were selected in Engineering and Medical Colleges through this e-learning programme.

He said that 1,016 Edusat classroom had been set up with 516 Satellite Interactive Terminals (SITs) and 500 Receive Only Terminals (ROTs) in various government secondary schools in the state.

The minister also said that this year a crash course was conducted from February 28 to May five to enable the students to review the lectures at their convenience.
