Taking a serious notice of motor dealers selling non-transport vehicles illegally on temporary registration certificate, the Punjab government today decided to take strict action against it.
The transport department has taken a serious note of the situation that some motor dealers were selling vehicles with Trade Certificate Number instead of issuing provisional registration certificate (RC) which is illegal, an official here said.
He said that State Transport Department had issued orders in December last, that at the time of selling Non-Transport Vehicles, dealers should be issued provisional R C of permanent number instead of Temporary Registration number which have to be allotted online to concerned motor vehicle.
But some dealers are selling vehicles with Trade Certificate number instead of Provisional R C of permanent Number which is violation of Punjab Government rules and resulting heavy financial loss to the government, he said.
