Punjab to unveil new entrepreneurship, self employment policy

Punjab government will soon unveil a new inclusive policy to give a boost to entrepreneurship and self-employment in the state.

The inputs for finalising the policy would be taken from experts' at an event being organised by Mahatma Gandhi State Institute of Public Administration (MGSIPA), in association with National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) here on November 25, an official spokesperson said here today.

Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal would inaugurate the event, organised by MGSIPA here. It would be first of the series of such events, aimed at boosting entrepreneurship in various fields, the spokesperson said, Badal would deliver the inaugural address.
 

Chief Secretary Sarvesh Kaushal elaborate on the theme of self-employment and the strategies of the state government in skill development and related fields.

For the first time delegates from diverse fields including Self Help Groups (SHG); NGOs working in this area; successful entrepreneurs particularly, from the rural and small-scale sectors among others would be deliberating on this issue to have an inclusive policy, the spokesperson said.

Experts from various fields such as agriculture, dairy research, fisheries, poultry, handicraft and home-based industries were expected to participate.

They are likely to deliver ob financing of self-employment ventures, bottlenecks in setting up small units, skill gaps, technical know-how and mutual cooperation.
