An NRI youth from Majri Kishnewally village near Amloh here was shot dead in the USA, family members said today.
A pall of gloom has descended on the village following news of the murder of Manpreet Singh Ghuman (27) in the US at a gas station in South Lake Tahoe.
According to family members, Manpreet, who was working as a clerk at the gas station, was fatally shot on August 6. But his mother here is yet to learn of her son's death.

The body of the deceased will reach India tomorrow with the cremation likely to be fulfilled on Saturday at his native village. A close relative of the deceased is bringing back the body after completing all legal formalities.
Manpreet, the son of an agriculturist, Surinder Singh, had migrated to the US two years back.
He died after receiving a single bullet wound to his upper torso.
A customer who had walked into the gas station where he was working had found Manpreet lying in a pool of blood on the fateful day.
Police had been immediately alerted but the victim was declared dead at the scene, relatives said, adding that a probe was on in the case.
