The delegation, led by SAD spokesperson Balwant Singh Ramoowalia, alleged that the Gujarat Government was uprooting thousands of farmers with Punjab and Haryana origin under the Bombay Tenancy and Agricultural Lands (Vidarbha Region) Act.

The Act was totally "unjust and unreasonable" as these farmers had transformed the barren land of Gujarat into fertile one with their constant hard work and labour, a member of the delegation alleged.

Despite having all legal and revenue documents in their possession, now they were being denied from the legitimate ownership rights over the agricultural land, he alleged.

Badal assured them that he would take-up the matter with Chief Minister of Gujarat Narendar Modi and BJP high command for early redrerssal of the issue, according to an official release.

He said that SAD-BJP government was fully committed for the welfare of the farmers in general and especially the farmers belonging to Punjab and settled in other parts of the country.
