Puri says Telangana's double bedroom housing scheme for poor

Union minister Hardeep Singh Puri today appreciated the Telangana government's double bedroom houses scheme for the poor, the state government said here today.

The Housing and Urban Affairs Minister visited the IDH colony here, where the state government has built double bedroom houses for the poor.

A state government release quoted him as saying that it is "revolutionary" in weaker sections housing schemes in the country to build double bedroom houses in the "in situ model" to make Hyderabad slum-free.

Telangana Animal Husbandry Minister T Srinivas Yadav said one double bedroom house built by the state costs Rs 30 lakh in the open market, it said.
 

Former Union Minister and BJP MP Bandaru Dattatreya urged Puri to release funds for the works of sewerage and drainage modernisation, the release added.
