Pvt institutes to provide science education to students in Pb

The Punjab government will sign a Memorandum of Understanding with private institutes for providing science education to government school students from Class IX to XII.

Representatives of private higher education institutes today submitted a proposal in this regard to the technical education minister here, an official release said.

After meeting with the representatives of Higher Technical Education Institutes, Technical Education Minister Charanjit Singh Channi said in today's scientific era, it is necessary for students to have good knowledge of the science subject at school level.

He said that this proposal will be discussed with the Education Minister Aruna Chaudhary and this will be matured with the objective of strengthening the science education at ground level.
 

Channi said after this the education minister, technical education minister and representatives of all the associations of the private institutes will convene a joint meeting next week to give a practical shape to this proposal.

The technical education minister said in the initial proposal, the private players have proposed that they would adopt schools to teach science subjects in government schools.

He said as per the proposal, private institutes would strengthen infrastructure of science labs and provide support in supplying items for science practicals.

He further said apart from this the private institutes have also proposed to provide their labs for one day in a week to the students of government schools.

Besides this, private schools have also offered to run free training courses for the science teachers of the government schools.
